Doris Salcedo at the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, Texas, Plegaria Muda
In honour of Doris Salcedo being named the inaugural Nasher Prize Laureate, the Nasher Sculpture Center presents an exhibition of Plegaria Muda (۲۰۰۸-۱۰).
Salcedo is the 2016 recipient of the Nasher Prize, a $100,000 award to be presented each year to a living artist who has made an extraordinary impact on our understanding of sculpture. Salcedo has created sculpture and installations for the past three decades that transform familiar, everyday objects – chairs, shoes, roses, bricks – into moving and powerful testimonies of loss and remembrance.
Salcedo will be presented with the prize in a ceremony held in Dallas on 2 April 2016.
