City of London’s official website: from 9 July, The popular public and free art exhibition, Sculpture in the City2015, was held in London with a selection of contemporary art pieces in and around the Square Mile‫.

Some of the great international artist such as Damien Hirst, Bruce Beasley, Kris Martin, with their famous works have participated in this event.  In addition, an Ai Weiwei work will be installed in September to coincide with the Royal Academy’s much anticipated exhibition of this celebrated artist.

The exhibition includes works from internationally renowned artists:

 Ekkehard Altenburger (Germany); Bruce Beasley (USA); Adam Chodzko (UK); Laura Ford (UK); Damien Hirst (UK); Shan Hur (Korea); Folkert de Jong (Netherlands); Sigalit Landau (Israel); Kris Martin (Belgium); Keita Miyazaki (Japan); Tomoaki Suzuki (Japan); Xavier Veilhan (France); and Ai Weiwei (China).مجسمه

In its fifth year, Sculpture in the City aims to enhance London’s urban environment with cutting-edge contemporary works from leading artists sited in both busy thoroughfares and quieter, green spaces.

News indicates Sculpture in the City 2015 from has already drawn interest from the general public, local businesses, workers, and the local and national media.

Sculpture in the City is facilitated and delivered by the City of London Corporation. Also the schools and community outreach education programme invites local schools to explore the public realm spaces which Sculpture in the City inhabits through a series of dynamic workshops. This extensive educational programme is a significant element to the overall project.

With this unique yearly project that began from 2011, London as one of the most important cities in international art market, always faces great art pieces all over the city and it can make good relation between general people and art specialists.

Previous editions of Sculpture in the City featured works by:

Anish Kapoor, Tracey Emin, Dan Graham, Antony Gormley and others.

Sculpture in the City 2015 will be continued to May 2016.
